Smart and Happy City
In collaboration with the Institute for Quality of Life, we are exploring what truly makes a city a great place to live through the Happy City Index. Now in its 6th edition, the Index introduces new Indicators and Metrics, organized into key Themes that reflect the evolving urban experience. This year, AI plays an important part in our research—not only as a powerful tool for analyzing vast amounts of data but also as a technology increasingly used in shaping city life itself.
From urban planning to public services, AI is rapidly changing how cities operate, influencing everything from traffic management and sustainability efforts to social well-being and community engagement. The Happy City Index examines these impacts, measuring, together with all other Themes, how AI-driven innovations contribute to—or challenge—the quality of life in modern cities.
